Why RetireOS exists
RetireOS was created for financially literate individuals who want immediate feedback, transparent assumptions and greater control over their own retirement planning decisions.
Retirement planning should be understandable.
Many planning tools are built around meetings, static reports and external processes. RetireOS takes a different approach: it helps users explore the assumptions behind their plan directly.
The goal is not to replace financial advice. The goal is to give people a clearer understanding of their own situation so they can make better-informed decisions.
Built for
- DIY investors
- Financially literate professionals
- Spreadsheet users
- Curious planners
Designed around
- Immediate feedback
- Transparent assumptions
- Local-first data
- Forecast auditability
Built incrementally, with transparency at the centre.
RetireOS is intentionally focused in Version 1. The aim is to prove the forecasting engine, sequencing logic, user experience and explainability before adding heavier planning features.

Why I built RetireOS
RetireOS began as a personal project. Over time I became increasingly frustrated by the gap between the questions people wanted answered and the tools available to answer them.
Simple planning questions often required meetings, reports and lengthy feedback loops, while many online tools felt either too simplistic or too opaque to be genuinely useful.
My own background spans psychology, accountancy, investment management and operational leadership roles within financial services. That combination probably explains why RetireOS focuses less on product selection and more on behaviour, decision-making, cashflows, trade-offs and transparency.
RetireOS is not trying to predict the future. It is trying to make the future easier to think about.
